ALBERT XAVIER Albert Xavier graduated from the New York University film school. He earned his first credits as a television producer with "Fashion Emergency" for E! Entertainment Television and "GalaScene" for Univision in the US and the Caribbean. In 2000, he directed eight episodes of the "Resurrection Blvd." episodic series for Showtime television. Albert produced, wrote, and directed his first feature film, "Red Passport," which screened in film festivals and has been viewed in more than 45 countries, including Italy, Cuba, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, France, Dominican Republic, Japan, Argentina, and the US. The film was acquired for DVD distribution for August 2006 by Maverick Entertainment. "Red Passport" won the Audience Award at the LaCinemaFe Film Festival at Lincoln Center in New York, and a Special Mention Best Director at the Cambridge Latino Film Festival. Albert has developed a series of short films in HD (high definition) and won the Best Short Film Award for "Different Man" at The International Film Festival of Belize. His short films have been picked up for television broadcast on BET, Jazz, and Sundance channels. He has received directorial credit for the new US television series, "One Tree Hill" and "Law and Order: CI." In addition, he has freelanced as a cameraman for ESPN live sporting events and behind the scenes for Fashion Week in NYC, London, and LA. In the Latin Music market, his work was honored with The Latin Billboard 2006 awards for Best Tropical Airplay for the music video "Lamento Boliviano." Presently, Albert is promoting "Wake of the Fallen Sun," which he Executive Produced for first-time director Daren Spencer. He continues to produce first-time filmmakers, helping them accomplish their visions. His next feature film, to begin production in the fall, is "Closure," a Dominatrix Short film. |
